There are over 400 steel finishing operations in the United States with a very heavy concentration in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. These operations, many of them part of integrated mill and minimill steelmaking operations include mills that make rod, bar, and wire; pipe and tube; hot rolling sheet and plate mills; cold reduction sheet mills; structural mills, and galvanizing and coating lines. They also provide special sizes, annealing, and coatings to meet specific customer requirements.
